Afternoon Tea at the Dome | My Edinburgh Experience

Hello, wonderers! I am thrilled to have you on my page. First off, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who continues to read, share, and engage with my posts. THANK YOU!

Now, let’s delve into the world of tea. Afternoon tea is a quintessential British tradition originating from the 1840s. This light meal, typically served around 4 p.m., offers guests an array of teas, finger sandwiches, scones topped with clotted cream and jam, and a variety of cakes and pastries. Set in posh surroundings, it’s the perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon, perhaps imagining oneself in an episode of Bridgerton.

A few years back, I had the pleasure of visiting the renowned Dome to indulge in its afternoon tea, and today, I’m eager to share my candid impressions with you (Please note, this is not a sponsored post, simply my honest review).

About The Dome

The Dome in Edinburgh is a grand and iconic place located in the heart of the city on George Street. Situated in a neoclassical building, it’s known for its stunning architecture, including its Greco-Roman façade and rich interior. Beyond being a popular dining and bar spot, The Dome offers an exceptional afternoon tea experience. And during the festive season, the venue shines with fantastic decorations, solidifying its must-visit status in Edinburgh.

Afternoon Tea at The Dome

Now, about my visit to this renowned location. The Dome offers outstanding service from the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly and attentive, the tea selection is extensive, and the cakes and scones? Fresh and delightful. But for me, the standout element was the building itself. Afternoon tea is typically served in the Georgian tearoom—a magnificent hall that’ll make you feel like royalty.

If you’re into this regal vibe, you’ll undoubtedly relish your afternoon tea experience at The Dome. From me, it’s a big YES and a personal rating of 9 out of 10.

Having tea with sandwiches and scones at The Dome will cost you £29.50. While it’s not the cheapest outing, it’s a wonderful treat for anyone wanting to enjoy a proper British afternoon tea.
