Chihuahua Café – My Honest Review of Edinburgh’s Dog Café

Do you adore little, cute chihuahuas? How about the idea of playing and cuddling with seven of them simultaneously? If this sounds like your cup of tea, I have just the place for you. Introducing the Chihuahua Café, Scotland’s first dog café, located right in the heart of Edinburgh on Frederick Street. In this post, I’ll share more about this café and give you an honest account of my experience there.

So, what’s the Chihuahua Café all about?

Edinburgh’s Dog Café

Chihuahua Café opened its doors in November 2017. As of the time of writing this post, it stands as the only dog café in Edinburgh. The unique concept behind this café is the coming together of humans and chihuahuas, creating some truly memorable life moments. It’s an especially heartwarming treat for those who either don’t own pets or are missing their distant furry companions. The café offers a 50-minute session with these adorable dogs, with prices starting at £10.00 per session. Remember to book your slot in advance, as it’s not a walk-in establishment. Once you step inside, you’ll be warmly greeted by seven beautiful chihuahuas, each boasting its own unique personality (brace yourself for some enthusiastic barking!). And a word to the wise: guard your cakes!

Can I Bring My Kids?

Absolutely! The café welcomes children aged 5 and above. Given the delicate nature of the chihuahuas, every child between the ages of 5-11 must be accompanied by an adult. While your little one is sure to enjoy the experience, it’s essential to supervise them closely.

Is It Worth the Visit?

Edinburgh’s Dog Café

It’s a big YES from me. The Chihuahua Café is truly a one-of-a-kind spot that brings so much joy and cheerfulness. I had a wonderful time with those little fellas, and I must say, their cakes didn’t disappoint either. It’s lovely to see how well-cared-for the doggies are, and you too will feel well taken care of. I genuinely enjoyed my session, and I’ll definitely be back.

If you’re fond of these types of experiences, Edinburgh hasn’t forgotten about cat enthusiasts. Maison De Moggy is a beautiful and welcoming cat café situated in the Old Town of Edinburgh. Check out my post about the café!
